Nigerian twin doctors die days apart, Yobe governor condoles family
Governor Mai Buni has condoled with the family of twin sisters, Hadiya Usman and Aidah Usman, who died two days apart.
According to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Yusuf Ali, on Monday, Ms (Hadiya) Usman, a medical doctor with Federal Medical Centre, Nguru, died on Friday.
Her twin sister, Ms (Aidah) Usman, a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), died on Sunday.
The twin sisters, said to have died of natural causes, were daughters of Hadiza Usman, the chief medical director of FMC, Nguru.
Mr Buni described their deaths as heartbreaking, painful and devastating to the family, medical profession and people of Yobe.
The governor earlier sent a delegation to Nguru to convey his condolences to the bereaved family.
The delegation was jointly led by the commissioner for basic and secondary education, Abba Idriss Adam, and the health commissioner, Muhammad Lawan Gana.
