Dan Anorue, the pastor-in-charge of Summit Bible Church, has assured Nigerians that in spite of the current challenges, brighter days lie ahead.

Speaking during the church’s 20th anniversary and thanksgiving service on Sunday, Mr Anorue expressed confidence that God will use the nation’s leaders to usher in prosperity and positive transformation.

Citing Romans 8:28 during his sermon, the cleric urged Nigerians not to lose faith, emphasising that all things work together for good for those who believe in God.

“If you don’t understand what God is doing, you may feel lost, but God is in it,” said Mr Anorue. He knows, He understands. He sees the end from the beginning, and He is working all things out for the good of His people, especially those who love Christ.”

Mr Anorue encouraged believers to remain steadfast, describing the season as a turning point for the country and the church.

“This is a new season for us. We’re marching forward. The Bible says the gates of hell will not prevail against the church. That means it will end in praise because God has already seen the end,” he added.

He called on Christians across the world to rise above prevailing circumstances and embrace their roles as light-bearers in society.

“This is our finest moment. It is time to arise and shine,” said Mr Anorue. “More than ever, we must rely on the leading of the Holy Spirit.”

Kingsley Akwudolu, chairman of the church’s 20th Anniversary Planning Committee, also said the theme ‘Divine Orchestration’ aptly captured the church’s journey since its founding in 2005.

“We are celebrating 20 years of God’s faithfulness. In spite of the challenges, God has helped us through it all,” he said.

Odi Lagi, a pioneer member of the church, reflected on the church’s growth over the past two decades, expressing joy at witnessing the transformation.

“I’m delighted to have been part of it from the beginning till now. What gives me joy is actually when you see children that were given birth to in this church now have become adults. Not just that they are adults, but that they’ve taken the foundation of Christianity.

“It gives me so much joy to know that we have raised generations of people who are out there making changes and saving souls; they are out there as good citizens,” she said.
