Ninth-placed Brighton demolish Ronaldo’s Manchester United
It was a harvest of goals as ninth place Brighton on Saturday thrashed Manchester United 4-0 in the English Premier League game at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton got a well deserved home victory, perfectly outplaying Cristiano Ronaldo’s United, creating chances and converting four of them.
Moises Caicedo opened the scoring for Brighton barely 15 minutes into the game that ended in a humiliating manner for England’s Red Devils.
The Red Devils went into the first half break behind Brighton with the hope of returning to the second half to stage a comeback. But that never happened.
Marc Cucurella doubled Brighton’s lead with a brilliant goal three minutes into the second half, followed by Pascal Gross’ 58th minute goal which gave Brighton a comfortable three goal lead margin.
While United scrambled to prevent Brighton from scoring more goals, Leandro Trossard struck, making it four for Brighton in the 60th minute.
With 57 points in 37 games, Manchester United appear to have missed out in the Champions League qualification struggle this season. They are now six points behind Arsenal who are fourth on the EPL log with 63 points in 34 games.
