NIPSS reaffirms commitment to nation-building

The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, near Jos, has promised to provide a platform for strategic research, leadership, and policy dialogue to propel nation-building.
The director-general of the institute, Ayo Omotayo, said this in his message to mark Nigeria’s 66th independence anniversary, on Thursday in Jos.
The director-general said the institute would continue to develop policies aimed at tackling insecurity and promoting national cohesion and economic prosperity.
He added, “NIPSS is committed to contributing to Nigeria’s development through strategic research, leadership development and policy dialogue.
“The institute will continue to provide platforms for policymakers, scholars, professionals and other stakeholders to examine the nation’s challenges and develop practical solutions.”
Mr Omotayo, however, noted that “converting Nigeria’s immense potential into sustainable development requires more than policies and programmes.
“It demands purposeful leadership, effective institutions, responsible citizenship, strategic thinking and sustained implementation.
“These are essential to ensuring that national aspirations translate into tangible improvements in the lives of Nigerians.”
He, however, urged Nigerians to be united towards harnessing the country’s vast human and material resources for sustainable development.
