NNL: Ekiti United defeats Osun United 1-0

Ekiti United FC on Sunday defeated Osun United FC 1-0 in a thrilling encounter in the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL).
The match was played at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
In the first half, both teams displayed skillful tactics but failed to convert their chances, ending the half scoreless.
Ekiti United dominated ball possession and controlled the pace of the game.
At the 55th minute of the second half, Ekiti United striker Oluwasegun Ajengele scored from a set-piece to give the home team a 1-0 lead.
Osun United missed several goal opportunities to equalise but could not penetrate the home team’s strong defence.
The match ended 1-0, securing the desired three points for Ekiti United FC.
Reacting, Ekiti United’s Head Coach, Bolarinwa Idris, expressed delight at his team’s performance, describing the game as a Southwest derby and a must-win encounter.
He said his players showed composure, confidence, and tactical discipline throughout the match.
“I am happy with the victory over Osun United. They played well and adhered to my tactical instructions. We will go back to the drawing board to ensure victory in our next away match,” Mr Idris said.
He also thanked the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, and his Technical Advisor on Sports Development, Olusola Osetoba, for their unconditional support to the team.
