No MC at Peller’s wedding said Wizkid bigger than Fela: Edo Pikin

Comedian and actor, Gbadamosi Jonathan, popularly known as MC Edo Pikin, has said that none of the masters of ceremonies at the recently held Peller and Javis’ white wedding compared Fela Kuti and Ayodeji Balogun, aka Wizkid.
“The other two MCs didn’t say anything like that. It’s not that they exonerated me. I made sure I worked very well with the other two MCs. Nobody mentioned anything about Fela and Wizkid,” said the comedian in a video on Sunday.
The clarification came after Seun Kuti, Fela’s son, was said to have left the wedding in Lagos after one of the MCs allegedly compared Wizkid to Seun’s late father.
A video of the younger Kuti navigating through the chandelier-lit hall with two others in tow before heading for the exit gripped social media.
Mr Jonathan, who described the allegation as fabricated bad news, added, “We are so agog to negativity, fabricated bad news. At this wedding, there were three MCs. They already had two MCs before the client reached out to me to coordinate his wedding, and the wedding was flawless.”
The comedian described the wedding as perfect, urging Mr Kuti to always be patient and verify before taking any decision.
“Sometimes, you need to listen well. The MCs are even praising you. They’re praising Fela but you didn’t even listen. You just missed the sweet food available for that days. We should always verify.
“The event was so perfect that no bloggers even saw where they could latched on. Egbon Seun, be calming. No be everything na quarrel,” he added.
The development echoed the rift between the younger Kuti and Wizkid after the former in January went live on Instagram to caution Wizkid’s fans against calling the singer the “New Fela,” describing the comparison as disrespectful.
The argument later shifted to the nickname “Big Bird,” with Mr Kuti accusing Wizkid of using the name he had long used.
Wizkid later responded with a series of Instagram Stories, saying he was “bigger than” Fela.
