Notorious senator Elisha Abbo wins APC ticket for Adamawa North

Controversial Senator Elisha Abbo has won the Adamawa North senatorial primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial ticket for the 2023 elections.
Mr Abbo defeated former senator Binta Masi and other contestants to emerge as the APC candidate at the election held on Saturday.
According to the results announced by the APC Electoral Committee, Mr Abbo had a total of 137 votes, Hamisu Medugu polled 100 votes while Ms Masi Garba scored 46 votes.
Elected into the senate under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in 2019, Mr Abbo decamped to the APC after a fall out with state governor Umar Fintiri in 2020.
In 2019, the temperamental senator drew public ire after he was caught on camera battering a woman at an sex toy shop in Abuja. The court later awarded a N50 million fine against him for assault.
Barely eighteen months later, the controversial lawmaker was again caught on camera beating a man in his Mubi hometown.
