NSCDC apprehends two suspected vandals in Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa Command, says it has apprehended two suspects for alleged vandalism.
The state commandant of the corps, Bala Bodinga, disclosed this during an interactive session with journalists on Monday in Dutse, the state capital.
He said the suspects were arrested in Fagam village, Gwaram Local Government Area, by men of the command while on patrol.
Mr Bodinga also said the suspects, aged between 25 and 30, were arrested on June 25 at about 12:00 p.m. after they allegedly vandalised a power line along Fagam-Lele-Kwayi road.
He revealed that six sets of high-tension insulators, 15 insulator pots, 11 pieces of a broken insulator and 20.7 metres of 10mm aluminium conductor wire were recovered from the suspects.
The commandant said other items recovered from the suspects were one high-tension rod, six spanners, five pieces of bolts and nuts, a U-shaped bolt, a knife and one boxer motorcycle with registration number KMC 266 QN.
According to him, the suspects claimed to be a blacksmith and hunters, respectively and will soon be charged to court.
He also disclosed that on June 10, the command recovered three abandoned rolls of aluminium wire close to Kuda Dam in Babura Local Government Area of the state.
Mr Bodinga reassured that the corps would continue to safeguard critical national assets and infrastructure (CNAI) across the state and beyond.
He urged members of the public to furnish the command with credible information to maintain peace and security in the state.
