NSCDC partners scrap employers to protect national assets

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps says it has partnered Scrap and Waste Dealers Employers of Nigeria in Lagos to protect national assets and critical infrastructure.
Oluwaseun Abolurin, NSCDC’s spokesman in Lagos, disclosed this in a statement in Lagos on Friday.
Mr Abolurin said the partnership became necessary because vandals of critical national assets and infrastructure would no longer be tolerated or allowed to thrive in Lagos.
He recalled that the activities of illegal operators, scavengers, thieves and vandals in the scrap and waste industry have recently become alarming across the country.
He said the command and SWEDEN meeting is expected to help rid the state of such criminal activities.
Mr Abolurin said the command and the association agreed to work hand in hand, identify challenges, provide possible and professional operational solutions, apprehend offenders, and clinically bring the menace to an end in Lagos.
