NSCDC urges religious bodies to pray for security agencies in Niger

Elijah Etim, commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger command, has called on religious bodies in the state to continue to pray for security agencies to succeed in the ongoing operations against insurgency.
Mr Etim made the call on Thursday when he paid a familiarisation visit to the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Minna.
He said that the corps and other security agencies tackling security challenges in the state needed intensified prayers from all the religious groups to succeed.
He also called for more synergy from various religious bodies for him to succeed as the new state commandant of the corps.
Mr Etim said, “We believe in prayers, Nigeria believes in faith, we are a godly nation and the security agencies need the prayers to succeed.
“So, I have come to CAN to ask for cordial synergy and for them to back us up spiritually with prayers for a successful tenure and for the safety of our men who are caught across the 25 local government areas of the state.”
He said that the corps had high regard for religious bodies and would continue to synergise with them to achieve peace in the state
.
Responding, Most Rev. Bulus Yohanna, the state CAN chairman, who was represented by his vice chairman, Ibrahim Ezekiel, assured the commandant that the body would continue to synergise with them and support them with prayers.
The high point of the visit was a prayer session for the safety of the people of the state, successful operations of the NSCDC and other security agencies in the state.
