The National Youth Service Corps has warned camp officials against unethical conduct and over socialisation with members of the scheme.

The coordinator of the scheme in Katsina State, Aisha Mohammed, gave the charge while addressing the personnel preparatory to the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream I Orientation exercise, on Thursday in Katsina.

The three-week orientation course was billed to hold between February 15 and March 6.

According to her, the officials are expected to lead by example for the young ones to emulate them by being disciplined at all times during the exercise.

Ms Mohammed tasked the officials to put in their best and adhere strictly to the rules and regulations governing the conduct of the orientation course.

She stressed the need for the officials to accord warm reception to the prospective corps members when they arrived at the camp.

Mr Mohammed said pre-camp meeting with collaborating agencies was an avenue to critically preview the camp and map out strategies for a successful orientation exercise devoid of hitches.

The coordinator also urged the security personnel deployed for the exercise to work in synergy to forestall unpleasant circumstances.

“Working in synergy will make the corps members borrow a leaf from them and participate actively in all camp activities,” she said.

The Camp Director, Mr Allen Charles-Chisom, sought the cooperation of the personnel to facilitate a hitch-free exercise.

Also speaking, the Camp Commandant, Capt. AS Musa, said teamwork was crucial to the successful conduct of the exercise.

He reiterated commitments of the security agencies to secure the camp during the exercise.
