On Tuesday, the Oba of Benin, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolor, Ewuare II, conveyed a message of hope to Edo citizens, urging them to cast aside fears because better days were imminent.
His message was delivered during the universal week of prayers, organised by the Benin City Christian Community in his palace.
Reading Psalms 23, verse 1 from the Bible, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want”, Oba Ewuare II expressed gratitude for the unwavering support received since his ascension to the throne.
He added, “God’s time is the best and may God Almighty continually protect all of you.”
The event brought together a diverse audience, including members of the royal family, chiefs and palace functionaries, who shared moments of amusement as the monarch read from the Bible.
Delivering his goodwill message at the solemn assembly, the Benin monarch, who thanked his prayer partners and subjects for their relentless support, said, “God’s time is the best. We should not be afraid. All is well. Better days are ahead. May God almighty continually protect all of you.”
