Nollywood actor, Yinka Quadri, broke down in tears at the eighth-day fidau prayer in honour of his late colleague, Taiwo Hassan, otherwise known as Ogogo, which took place in Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday.

The event was well attended by family, friends and colleagues in Nigeria’s film industry, including Toyosi Adesanya, Jide Kosoko, and Bolaji Amusan (Mr Latin), among others.

Speaking at the event, Mr Quadri admonished attendees on the importance of good deeds.

“I greet all my colleagues, especially our younger ones at Odunfa caucus. I want [Ogogo’s death] to serve as a lesson for all of us, especially Muslims.

“They always remind us every Friday sermon to fear God, not to engage in backbiting and hatred. It’s not because of anything, but because of a day like this. This is a lesson for you and me. It’s left for us to choose from what is bad or good,” Mr Quadri stated.

The actor further consoled the deceased’s family, seeking God’s unwavering support for them.

“About the family Ogogo left behind, may God be with you all. Reliance on God is most important. Don’t rely on me but rely on God,” he added.

Mr Hassan died last week after battling stage four cancer. His death came despite efforts by family and friends for his healing.
