The Ogun state’s Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) says it arrested a man, Abraham Michael, for the alleged abduction and rape of a teenager  in the Gasline area of Sango.

Its corps commander, Soji Ganzallo, said in a statement on Thursday that the suspect, 43, was arrested following a distress call from a pastor, Oluwaseyi Popoola of the Celestial Church of Christ, Christ Light Parish, Ijoko.

“On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at about 10pm, Pastor Popoola reported the disappearance of a 19-year-old lady, Miss Liasu Pelumi, who had been missing for several days. The pastor later received a ransom demand of ₦60,000 for her release,” he said.

Mr Ganzallo said operatives in the Sango-Adalemo area command, led by Okunuga Joseph, arrested the suspect at his residence on Idowu Akinsanya Street, Gasline Road, Sango.

The victim was rescued.
