Ondo LG boss inaugurates supervisory councillors, special advisers

Andrew Ogunsakin, chairman of the Okitipupa Local Government Area (LGA) of Ondo State, on Monday swore in new supervisory councillors and special advisers.
The four new supervisory councillors include Olumide Akinrowo (agriculture), Olakunle Oloyebade (works), Ogunji Wole Beku (education and social services), and Modupe Omosebi (health).
The three new special advisers are Bayo Christian-Ogunjumelo, People with Disability, Humanitarian Services, and Traditional Institution; Olalekan Ayodeji-Adetayo, Youth Development and Community Work; and Abiola Omotimehin, Security.
Mr Ogunsakin, at the swearing-in ceremony in Okitipupa, described the event as a milestone in the journey of good governance, effective service delivery, and sustainable development.
He also tasked the new appointees to view their appointments as a genuine call for service and a collective responsibility towards good governance.
Mr Ogunsakin emphasised that the appointments were based on loyalty, competence, and dedication to the progress of Okitipupa, describing the positions as a sacred trust, not an opportunity for personal enrichment or political rivalry.
He called on the new appointees to work harmoniously with departmental heads and contribute meaningfully to policy implementation.
The chairman particularly urged the special advisers to provide sound counsel, bring forth creative ideas, and act as bridges between the government and the people.
“Leadership is about service; our people expect results, not excuses. Let us justify the confidence reposed in us by upholding honesty, fairness, and accountability in all our dealings,” Mr Ogunsakin said.
The chairman congratulated the appointees and expressed confidence in their capacity to deliver, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to leaving a lasting legacy of development, unity, and progress in Okitipupa.
Mr Ogunsakin also commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his continuous support and commitment to grassroots development.
He noted that the governor’s leadership and vision continued to inspire progress and effective governance at the local level.
Dignitaries at the inauguration include Bode Ikulala, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Okitipupa LGA; councillors, royal fathers, and other top government functionaries, among others.
