Ondo LG Poll: Gov Aiyedatiwa declares Friday work-free day for workers

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo has declared Friday a work-free day for civil servants in the state ahead of the local government election.
The council election, which is scheduled for Saturday, will hold across the 18 local government areas (LGAs) of the state.
The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) stated that no fewer than 10 political parties have fielded candidates for the exercise.
In a statement on Thursday, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the chief press secretary to Mr Aiyedatiwa, said the work-free day would enable government workers to travel to their various communities to participate in the weekend exercise.
“The Local Government Election in Ondo State has been scheduled by the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) to hold on Saturday, 18th of January 2025.
“To this end, the Ondo State Government has declared Friday, 17th of January 2025, as Work-Free Day for Public Servants in the State to enable them to travel to their various communities to exercise their civic responsibilities.
