The Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Ondo State sector command, has confirmed the death of one person in an accident on Ore-Benin expressway.

Samuel Ibitoye, the sector commander, disclosed this in a telephone interview with journalists on Wednesday.

Mr Ibitoye said the accident that involved a petrol tanker and a lorry laden with logs of wood occurred on Wednesday.

The sector commander attributed the cause of the accident to speeding.

Mr Ibitoye explained that the accident involved six persons – four males and two females, as one female died in the accident.

“One life was lost in the accident involving a truck and a lorry. The accident occurred due to speeding by the parties involved.

“We implore motorists and other road users to always be patient on the corridor and abide by traffic rules and regulations, especially obeying speed limits, which is a safety precaution.

“I also implored vehicles not to park on the shoulder of the road.

“The state government has built a parking lot for big vehicles. In case they are tired, they should make use of this,” Mr Ibitoye said.

He said that the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the State Specialist Hospital in Ore.
