Orlando Julius to be buried May 28
Nigerian Saxophonist, Julius Ekemode, popularly known as Orlando Julius, who died April 14, at the age of 79, would be laid to rest May 28 in his hometown, Ijebu Ijesha in Osun.
This was disclosed by Bimbo Esho, Evergreen Musical Company’s managing director, on Sunday.
Ms Esho said there would be a Christian wake at Oke Agboja, Ijebu Ijesha on May 27.
“The funeral service will hold on Saturday, May 28 at St. Matthew Church, Ijebu Ijesha. This is according to the notification the family made available to me today,” she disclosed.
Ekemode was a saxophonist, singer, band leader and songwriter closely associated with afrobeat music.
Some of his albums included Disco Hi-Life, Ololufe, Love, Peace and Happiness, Dance Afrobeat, etc.
