Osun LG Polls: Egbetokun hails police commissioner for maintaining peace

The inspector general of police, Kayode Egbetokun, has commended the police commissioner in Osun, Mohammed Abba, for ensuring a peaceful and secure environment during the local government elections held on Saturday.
In a statement by the police spokesperson in Osun, Yemisi Opalola, on Wednesday, Mr Egbetokun made the commendation during a visit to the command on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Mr Egbetokun was in Osun to supervise and gain a firsthand view of the situation following a violent conflict between PDP and APC supporters resulting in several people being killed.
The IGP, represented by Ari Muhammed Ali, the deputy inspector general of police in charge of operations, commended the officers, who worked tirelessly over the week to maintain peace and order.
