‘Our vehicle got hook on way,’ police speak on 38 killed in Zamfara, kidnapping of several others

Not less than 38 people were killed by rampaging terrorists in Duste Dan Ajiya in Zamfara on Friday.

The police have said they could not quickly reach Dutse Dan Ajiya to rescue 38 villagers killed by rampaging terrorists due to difficulty navigating the terrain to reach the village.

Yazid Abubakar, spokesperson for the police in Zamfara State, explained to Peoples Gazette that they got the distress call from Duste Dan Ajiya, a village in Hanka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Explaining the difficulty in navigating the terrain, Mr Abubakar said that to reach the village, “you must cross two rivers before getting to the village. When we had the distress call, we had to mobilised both the vigilante, the police to go to the village.”

He added, “But, unfortunately, our vehicles got hooked on the road, because of the terrian. We managed to get to the village. On arrival, we found out thay the havoc has already been done.”

Not less than 38 people were killed by rampaging terrorists in Duste Dan Ajiya in Zamfara on Friday. An unspecified number of people, including women and children, were also abducted during the attack.
