Oyetola pledges to grow Osun economy; complete ongoing projects

Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun has assured the state residents that his administration’s plan to build a truly-diversified and resilient economy remains on course.
Mr Oyetola gave the assurance in a statement issued on Saturday by his media aide, Ismail Omipidan, to mark the 31st anniversary of the state.
The governor said the state had kept faith with the vision of its founding fathers to sustainably build “the state of virtue’’ in its 31 years of creation.
He congratulated the Osun people on the anniversary and declared that having celebrated the 30th anniversary in a grand style in 2021, it was reasonable to mark the 31 anniversary in a low key.
Mr Oyetola, who lost his re-election bid to Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, said his administration’s policies and programmes were driven by citizens’ needs listed during his “Thank You’’ tour and town hall meetings.
He explained that every responsible government must make people’s demands based on its policies and programmes.
The governor noted that his administration could be trusted as it had fulfilled most, if not all, its campaign promises despite its challenges.
He said his administration never failed to pay workers’ salaries and pensions, as well as the construction of a flyover bridge, roads and other promises.
“We will ensure completion of all ongoing road projects,” he assured.
