Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and the Foreign Minister of France Jean-Noel Barrot have expressed concern over serious ceasefire violations made in Lebanon.

During a telephone conversation, they underscored the importance of full implementation of the ceasefire and strict adherence to its terms, the Pakistan Foreign Office said in a statement.

Mr Barrot also congratulated Pakistan on its role in helping secure the initial ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States and voiced support for Pakistan’s continued efforts to pursue a diplomatic path toward lasting peace in the region.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing economic and trade cooperation, while agreeing to remain in close contact, the statement added.
