PDP governors meet to review party’s health, Buhari’s response to insecurity

Governors elected on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform meet today in Bauchi to discuss the party’s health and President Muhammadu Buhari’s response to insecurity across the country.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday, in Abuja, by the Director-General of PDP Governors Forum (PDP-GF), CID Maduabum.
Mr Maduabum stated that PDP governors would, at the meeting, examine and deliberate on the current state of the nation and situations in their respective states.
He added that the health of Nigeria’s democracy, including the Electoral Act amendment, constitution alteration bills, pending before the National Assembly, would also feature in discussions at the meeting.
Mr Maduabum further said the meeting would continue to interrogate Mr Buhari’s response to the insecurity pervading the country and proffer workable solutions.
The PDP official explained that the governors would continue to benchmark and exchange information and ideas on best practices regarding various aspects of governance in their respective states.
“The governors will also receive reports of some of the committees working on various aspects of party repositioning, including the e-registration programme of the party,” he stated.
Mr Maduabum noted that Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi would be the chief host, while the forum chairman Governor Aminu Tambuwal, would preside over the meeting.
