The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (GDP-GF) has called on Nigerians to provide the necessary support for Governor Caleb Mutfwang in his quest to address the security challenges in Plateau.

“Mutfwang needs the support of the federal government, the people of Plateau and all of Nigeria in his fervent quest to address external and internal forces working against the peace and security of the people of the people,” the forum said.

The forum’s appeal is in a statement by its chairman, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, in Abuja on Tuesday while celebrating Mr Mutfwang’s 59th birthday.

“The forum delightfully celebrates his remarkable bond with the people of Plateau and rejoices that it was preserved with the January 12 Supreme Court victory, which consolidated the people’s popular mandate for a four-year term of quality service delivery.

“We proudly note his immediate inroads on assumption of office as governor of Plateau in projects covering education, infrastructure, security and safety provision;

“Local government service repositioning, improved civil service and workers’ welfare, healthcare service delivery, poverty reduction schemes, SME funding, amongst others,” the forum said.

It stated that Mr Mutfwang’s fulfilment of his campaign promises was evident in the road construction and rehabilitation, youth and women’s empowerment, and urban renewal projects across the state.

The forum prayed that God would grant Mr Mutfwang the wisdom needed to succeed in restoring peace in the state.
