Peter Obi condemns Tinubu’s ‘labour till death’ attack, says ‘there’s dignity in labour’

Peter Obi, Labour Party presidential candidate, has condemned APC presidential flag bearer Bola Tinubu’s comment of “they will labour till they die,” asserting that there is “dignity in labour.”
The LP presidential flag bearer was in Osogbo on Wednesday to ramp up support for the opposition party’s governorship candidate, Lasun Yusuf. The gubernatorial election will hold on July 16.
“Labour people who are working hard have not been paid. Somebody said that they can labour till death. When they talk like that, when they show you hatred, Labour Party will show them love,” stressed Mr Obi. “Labour Party wants to move Nigeria from consumption to production. You cannot do production without labour, so there is dignity in labour, and those who have laboured will get their reward. That is what we want to do in Nigeria.”
While campaigning for Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the APC gubernatorial candidate urged the party faithful and supporters to ensure the incumbent’s re-election on Saturday.
“Think about your children and vote accordingly so you can see the future. Come out en masse. Don’t mind PDP and other mushroom parties – parties like Labour. They will labour till they die. God will not make you labourers,” Mr Tinubu had said.
Messrs Yusuf, Oyetola, PDP’s Ademola Adeleke and a host of others are seeking to be the Osun governor in the poll.
