Ephraim Usman, the Plateau commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, has called on Nigerians to pray for an end to the security challenges currently confronting the nation.

The commissioner made the call when some groups and heads of government agencies visited him on Thursday in Jos.

Some of the groups that visited the commissioner include, the Mutfwang Support Network (MSN), Mangu Project (TMP), and the Director General, Plateau Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency (DMCMA).

Mr Usman, who described insecurity as a huge set back to the developmental strides of the current administration in the country, advised Nigerians to pray against the menace.

Mr Usman, who commended Gov. Caleb Mutfwang over the steps taken toward stemming the tides of killings in the state, also urged Plateau residents to pray for him to succeed.

”I urge you all to pray for our governor and the President to succeed in the fight against insecurity; it has become a menace in this country and we must seek God’s divine intervention.

“Last week, over 200 people were kidnapped in Borno and 280 students in Kaduna. I can go on and on.

“It is really hard to understand; I honestly don’t know what is happening.

”This is why we need to come together as a people and pray for the end of insecurity in our dear state and nation in general,” he called.

Mr Usman called on Plateau residents to support the current administration in the state in its bid to deliver on the dividends of democracy to all.
