The Chairman of the Plateau Civil Service Commission, Paul Samani, says the commission would be digitalised to meet up with modern technology to enhance efficiency.

Mr Samani stated this on Tuesday in Jos when he led officials of the commission to interface with the Plateau State House of Assembly Committee on Labour and Security.

The chairman said that the commission would create a department to be solely responsible for information and communications technology (ICT) to achieve the target.

He noted that the civil service would be overhauled to create a proactive workforce.

The chairman, however, said that the commission had several challenges, such as the need for a more conducive working environment and more vehicles.

He further appealed for an upward review of the commission’s overhead cost, as the current cost of N500,000 was grossly inadequate.

In his response, the chairman of the House Committee on Labour and Security, Nanbol Daniel, commended the commission for informing the house on its blueprint to improve the commission.

Mr Daniel assured the commission that government attention would be drawn to the issues raised to ensure a vibrant workforce.
