The police on Friday arraigned a 31-year-old man, Muyiwa Adebayo, before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly possessing an Oyo State Internal Revenue ticket.

Mr Adebayo, whose address was not provided, was charged with unlawful possession of government property.

The prosecutor, Insp. Elisha Tellang told the court that Adebayo committed the offence on June 17 at about 11:35 a.m. at Iwo Road, Ibadan.

Mr Tellang alleged that the defendant unlawfully had in his possession an Oyo State Internal Revenue ticket, for which he could not give a satisfactory account.

He said the defendant committed an offence contrary to section 430 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The magistrate, Moyosore Atanda, granted the defendant N200,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

She thereafter adjourned the case until July 7 for a hearing.
