Police ban use of fireworks in Kaduna

The police command in Kaduna State has banned the use of knockouts and fireworks across the State in the interest of public safety and security.
This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s public relations officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, on Wednesday in Kaduna.
Mr Hassan said, “Members of the public are hereby advised to celebrate responsibly, as the use of knockouts and fireworks is strictly prohibited.”
According to him, this measure is aimed at preventing criminals from exploiting such activities to perpetrate crimes, create panic, or disrupt public peace.
He said the command had received credible intelligence from various sources that some miscreants have already begun using knockouts, thereby disturbing the residents, causing fear and panic within the community.
“The command wishes to warn that any person found using or involved in the use of knockouts or fireworks, in spite of this ban, will be arrested and dealt with in accordance with the law,” Mr Hassan warned.
