The Labour Party, on Thursday, tendered electoral documents (form EC8As) before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) sitting in Abuja.

President Bola Tinubu, the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), opposed tendering of the documents, stating that they will state their reasons at the time of address.

However, Labour Party’s request was backed by the tribunal, agreeing to adopt the documents despite the respondents’ opposition.

The six states are Rivers, Benue, Cross River, Niger, Osun and Ekiti.

The Labour Party had earlier revealed that it would be tendering electoral documents from 18 states but did only for six states on Thursday, having used up their allotted time in court.

The tribunal had earlier complained about the disorganisation of the Labour Party over the scheduling of documents during the course of the hearing, even after adjourning the case from Wednesday until Thursday.

Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani informed Awa Kalu, the lead counsel for LP, that irrespective of their time being up, they would have allowed them to continue further but they were not organised. He, therefore, adjourned the case until June 2 for further hearing.
