Resurgent Arsenal displace slacking Man United on EPL log

A rejuvenated Arsenal on Sunday defeated Watford in the English Premier League, displacing the slacking Manchester United from the fifth position on the league table.
The Gunners who had endured a bad start in the EPL this season secured a narrow 1-0 win against Watford at the Emirates Stadium.
The win is Arsenal’s third consecutive victory in the league.
Bukayo Saka’s early strike was overturned as offside by VAR, while Pierre Aubameyang missed a penalty awarded to the Gunners after Danny Rose’s bad tackle on Alexandre Lacazette in the 35th minute.
Smith Rowe, however, scored Arsenal’s only goal of the game in the 56th minute, while Watford’s Juraj Kucka was sent off the pitch in the 89th minute.
With 61 per cent of the possession in the game, Arsenal grabbed a deserved win signaling their resurgence after a wobbly start.
Having won their last four EPL games, Arsenal have been unbeaten in 10 games in all competitions this season, staying 5th on the EPL log with 20 points in 11 games.
In contrast, Manchester United continue to suffer jeers for their inconsistency in the league.
Some fans continue to push for manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s sack, blaming him for the team’s lukewarm outcomes in recent matches. The Red Devils have won only one of their last premiership matches and are now sitting sixth on the log.
