The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) on Tuesday trained its staff on the Performance Management System (PMS) to enhance their proficiency.

Chairman of the commission, Mohammed Shehu, stated this at a two-day workshop on PMS in Abuja.

Mr Shehu was represented by the commissioner representing Kwara in the commission, Shuaibu Agaka.

He said the workshop was designed to improve staff performance and productivity, particularly in line with the commission’s drive toward digitalisation.

“This training we are having today is on the Performance Management System. It is meant to replace the annual performance evaluation report which the commission had been using before now,” Mr Shehu said.

Also speaking, the secretary of the commission, Joseph Nwanze, described RMAFC as a strategic institution, adding that the training was organised to expose officers to digital transformation.

He said, “The training is also to encourage staff to develop new skills, enhancing their employability. We are here to be familiarised with the new system. So, learn as much as you can and be ready to unlearn certain things that are not supposed to be part of our new orientation and transition.’’

Mr Nwanze also advised participants on proper dress code and punctuality, stressing that such values would promote a professional, productive, and respectful work environment.

In his remarks, PMS Consultant with Relief Line Nigeria, Emanuel Ohiro, commended the initiative, urging participants to take the training seriously as it would enhance their service delivery.

One of the participants, Elizabeth Keghku, thanked the commission for organising the workshop, noting that it would help staff to better understand the goals, objectives, and expectations of the commission.
