Ronaldo makes history as only man to score at six FIFA World Cups, oldest player to score brace

Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player to score in six different FIFA World Cup tournaments after his first-half brace in Portugal’s second Group K match against Uzbekistan on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old opened the scoring for Portugal six minutes into the encounter when he fired home Joao Cancelo’s cross from close range before his second in the 39th minute after slotting home a pass by Bruno Fernandes.
With the brace, the Real Madrid and Manchester United legend also became Portugal’s highest scorer in World Cup history with 10 goals, surpassing the legendary Eusebio.
Additionally, Ronaldo is now the oldest player to score a brace at the World Cup and the second-oldest World Cup scorer behind Cameroon’s Roger Milla, who was 42 when he scored at the 1994 tournament.
Portugal is currently leading Uzbekistan 3-0 at halftime as of the time of filing this report.
