Sallah: Be safety-conscious on roads, VIO urges motorists

The Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS) has urged motorists to be safety-conscious during the Sallah celebration nationwide.
Yusuf Suberu, squadron leader of the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), Mayors of the Federation, made the call in an interview with journalists on Sunday in Abuja.
Mr Suberu congratulated the Muslim faithful on observing the feast and urged the people to show love to other road users in the spirit of the celebration.
He, however, called on them to sustain that spirit of kindness and consideration so that others could reflect safety on the roads.
The VIO boss also urged members of the public to be patient while using the road to avoid road crashes, obstructions, and death.
Hen gave assurance that VIO mayors, in their usual commitment to making the roads safer for all travellers, have made adequate preparations to ensure efficient traffic management during the festive period.
Mr Suberu urged the public not to disregard measures taken by road safety officials and other security agencies to ensure the celebration was free, safe, and peaceful.
