Sanwo-Olu promises to get justice for murdered BRT passenger

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos says “no stone will be unturned in the investigations” of the abduction and murder of Oluwabamise Ayanwola, a 22-year-old fashion designer found dead after boarding a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Lagos.
In a series of tweets on Monday, Mr Sanwo-Olu assured Lagosians that the life of every citizen of the state matters to the state.
“Dear Lagosians, the life of every citizen of the state matters to us, and we do not take the security of our people for granted,” Mr Sanwo-Olu said. “We will therefore leave no stone unturned in the investigations and arrest of everyone found culpable in the kidnap and death of Miss Oluwabamise Ayanwola.”
Mr Sanwo-Olu expressed his sympathy to the deceased’s family, adding that the bus driver was arrested yesterday.
The governor said investigations would be followed closely, and they would ensure that Ms Ayanwola gets the justice she deserved.
“The driver of the BRT bus involved in this unfortunate incident has been arrested, and the management of Lagos Bus Service Ltd has been directed to cooperate fully with security agencies in their investigations so that the full weight of the law is brought down on everyone involved in this ugly incident,” he added.
Ms Ayanwola went missing for days after boarding a BRT. She was found dead at Carter Bridge at Ogogoro Community, Lagos, with her body mutilated. The bus driver, Nice Andrew Omininikoron, suspected of kidnapping the victim, was arrested on Monday.
Mr Omininikoron was arrested at his hiding place at Ososa, Ogun, by the SSS. The driver claimed he did not abduct and murder the passenger.
