Saturday to Monday: Cloudy, thundery weather expected

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy and thundery weather conditions from Saturday to Monday.
NiMet’s weather outlook released on Friday in Abuja predicted partly cloudy to cloudy skies over the Northern region in the morning on Saturday.
It further said there were prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Kaduna, Gombe, Kebbi, Taraba, Adamawa, Bauchi, and Southern Borno during the afternoon and evening period.
“Partly cloudy to cloudy skies are anticipated over the North central region in the morning hours.
“Later in the day, thunderstorms are expected over parts of Plateau, Niger, Benue, Kwara and the Federal Capital Territory.
“It should be predominantly cloudy over the inland and the coastal cities in the morning hours, with chances of a few thunderstorms over Lagos, Cross River and Akwa Ibom.
“Later in the day, thunderstorms are envisaged over parts of Oyo, Ondo, Edo, Ekiti, Abia, Enugu, Rivers, Cross River and Akwa Ibom,” it said.
According to the agency, partly cloudy to cloudy skies are anticipated over the Northern region in the morning hours with a few thunderstorms over Taraba and Kaduna on Sunday.
It forecast thunderstorms over parts of Adamawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Gombe, Zamfara and Borno during the afternoon and evening hours.
“North-Central region is expected to be cloudy with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Plateau in the morning hours.
“Thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Kwara, Niger, Kogi, Benue, Plateau and FCT later in the day.
“Cloudy skies are envisaged over the inland cities with rains over the coastal belt in the morning hours.
“Thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Enugu, Imo, Edo, Ogun, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Lagos and Bayelsa during the afternoon and evening hours,“ it said.
The agency envisaged partly cloudy to cloudy skies over the Northern region during the morning hours on Monday.
It anticipated thunderstorms over parts of Sokoto, Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe and Zamfara during the afternoon and evening hours.
According to it, partly cloudy to cloudy skies are envisaged over most parts of the North central region with chances of thunderstorms over the Federal Capital Territory in the morning hours.
“Further into the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected over Niger, Plateau and the Federal Capital Territory.
“Cloudy skies are anticipated over the Inland and Coastal cities of the South in the morning hours with chances of thunderstorms over Cross River.
“Later in the day, thunderstorms are expected over parts of Ondo, Delta, Ekiti, Enugu, Abia, Cross River and Akwa Ibom,” it said.
