Secondus, Ihedioha, Jibrin congratulate Ifeanyi Okowa on emergence as Atiku’s 2023 running mate

The former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has congratulated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for picking Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta as his running mate for the 2023 poll.
Mr Secondus said this in a statement from his media office on Thursday in Abuja.
“Abubakar is a square peg in a square hole whose pedigree in the nation’s political space remains outstanding and speaks for itself,” he said.
Mr Secondus said that the choice of Mr Okowa as Mr Abubakar running mate was a right step in the right direction.
“With the picking of a running mate, the candidacy is complete and PDP is now set for the inevitable journey back to Aso Rock come 2023,” he said.
Also, the Chairman, PDP Board of Trustees (BOT), Senator Walid Jibrin, advised party members to see the emergence of Mr Okowa as Mr Abubakar’s running mate as an act of God.
Mr Jibrin in a statement in Abuja, urged party faithful to accept the decision and work together for the victory of PDP in 2023 general elections.
“I urge all PDP members to accept this decision in good faith and give the strongest support to Abubakar as president of Nigeria and his Vice president Chief Okowa as his vice president.
“Both Muslims and Christians must come together to give all support to them all.
“All PDP members must come together to unite for PDP to take over from the All Progressives Congress,” he said.
Similarly, former governor of Imo, Emeka Ihedioha, described Mr Okowa’s emergence as “meritorious nomination.”
“This is sequel to my conviction that Governor Okowa is a very distinguished, loyal, disciplined and committed party man who will add great value to and complement the presidential ticket given his well acknowledged, rich legislative and executive pedigree spanning several years in our country,” Mr Ihedioha noted.
Mr Ihedioha asserted that Mr Okowa not only balances the ticket but will serve as a partner to the PDP presidential candidate.
“I urge all party faithful to support the Atiku/Okowa ticket as we march towards actualizing the democratic expectations of Nigerians for a PDP return to government in 2023, to Rescue and Rebuild Nigeria,” he enjoined.
