Security: Group confers award on Gombe governor

Governor Inuwa Emerges 2022 People’s Security Monitors’ Grand Ambassador of Security and Peace In Nigeria
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya (Dan Majen Gombe) has been nominated as 2022 Grand Ambassador of Security and Peace in Nigeria by People’s Security Monitors in recognition of his sterling leadership, superlative performance and uncommon commitment to security issues.
The notification of the award, which was conveyed via a letter addressed to the Governor, noted that the decision to confer this highest award on the Governor followed strict scrutiny and comprehensive appraisal of his result-oriented, sterling leadership and immense achievements in security and peace in Gombe State, the North East and the North generally since his assumption of office as Governor.
The organisation hinted that the resolution of Extraordinary Editorial Board Meeting held in conjunction with members of the Steering Committee during the organisation’s 2022 Annual Conference observed that Gombe State has become a model for other states to emulate in terms of security.
It disclosed that the conferment of the prestigious award to the Gombe Governor will be done during this year’s Peoples Security Monitors Conference & Recognition/Awards Ceremony slated for Wednesday 23rd, March, 2022, at the Nigerian National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja.
During the event, Governor Inuwa is expected to address the conference on security challenges especially in the Northeast and the best way to overcome them at this precarious time of our enormous security challenges in the country.
People’s Security Monitor is an independent security radio programme and online media organization with a wide audience in the Federal Capital Territory and other states of the federation with immense influence on social media. It serves as a social vehicle to drive a formidable platform between the people and the security agencies with a view to reducing insecurity to the barest minimum level in order help achieve a more secured and crime free Nigeria.
Recall that despite being at the center of the insurgency-wrecked Northeast, Gombe enjoys relative peace and is adjudged as the most peaceful state in the North-East by the forum of State Directors of Security (SDS); one of the most peaceful states in the country by Eons Intelligence in addition to the fact that Gombe is the reining number one state in the ease of doing business ranking in Nigeria; the development that is borne out of Governor Inuwa’s pragmatic and legendary leadership disposition that places Gombe State on the path of sustainable peace and development.
