Senate names Ndume tourism c’ttee chair, Mustapha heads livestock development

The Senate on Wednesday announced Musa Mustapha (APC-Yobe) as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Livestock Development.
The president of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, made the announcement alongside other heads of committees during plenary.
President Bola Tinubu recently announced the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development.
Mr Akpabio also said that with the elevation of Mohammed Monguno (APC-Borno) to the position of Majority Whip of the Senate, the Committee on Judiciary Human Rights and Legal Matters would now be chaired by Adegbonmire Adeniyi (SAN) (APC-Ondo).
Other appointments include that of Ali Ndume (APC-Borno) as chairman of the Senate Committee on Tourism, while Anthony Ani (APC-Ebonyi) becomes deputy chairman of the committee.
“Chairman of the Senate Committee on the proposed Reparation and Repatriation becomes Ned Nwoko (PDP-Delta).
“The deputy chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation lies with Mohammed Monguno, in addition to being the Chief Whip of the Senate.”
He said that Simon Lalong (APC-Plateau) chairs the Senate Committee on Agricultural Institutions.
Mr Akpabio further announced that Abdul Ningi (PDP-Bauchi) retained his position as chairman of the Senate Committee on National Identity and Population.
“In line with the spirit of togetherness and forgiveness, Abdul Ningi retains his earlier position as committee chairman on national population.”
