Senator calls for prayers, unity amid national challenges

Adetokunbo Abiru, the senator representing Lagos East senatorial district, has urged Nigerians to use the Eid-el-Kabir period to pray for national peace, unity and progress despite current challenges.
Mr Abiru made the call in a goodwill message on Wednesday in Lagos to commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The senator urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, resilient, and united, adding that the nation’s current challenges require collective prayers, support for leaders, and a commitment to nation-building.
According to him, Eid-el-Kabir is a sacred celebration that reflects the enduring values of faith, sacrifice, humility, obedience and total submission to the will of Allah.
“This sacred celebration serves as a profound reminder of the enduring virtues of faith, sacrifice, humility, obedience and complete submission to the will of Almighty Allah. It also calls on us to renew our commitment to compassion, unity, peaceful coexistence and service to humanity,” he said.
Mr Abiru noted that the festive period offered Nigerians an opportunity for sober reflection and renewed dedication to national development, irrespective of religious, ethnic or political differences.
“At this critical moment in our national journey, we must continue to come together as one people, irrespective of religion, ethnicity or political affiliation, in support of efforts aimed at building a more prosperous, secure and united Nigeria,” he said.
Mr Abiru also called on Nigerians to keep supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration and other leaders at all levels as they work to reposition the country for economic stability and sustainable growth.
Mr Abiru further encouraged citizens to strengthen bonds of mutual support and collective responsibility during the celebration.
“I encourage everyone to remain hopeful, resilient and prayerful. Beyond the celebrations, Eid-el-Kabir is a season of deep reflection and an opportunity to strengthen our collective resolve toward nation-building and mutual support for one another,” he said.
The senator prayed for enduring peace, stability and progress in Nigeria and wished Muslims a peaceful, joyous and spiritually fulfilling Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
