Shari’a court orders Okada rider to pay N25,000 monthly child support

A Shari’a court in Rigasa, Kaduna State, has ordered a commercial motorcycle rider, Abdulrahman Muhammad, to pay a monthly feeding allowance of N25,000 for his five children.
The Judge, Muhammad Adamu, also granted the custody of the children to Mr Muhammad’s estranged wife, Zaituna Abdulkadir.
Earlier, the petitioner, Zaituna in her application urged the court to grant her custody of her children, and for it to compel her ex-husband to pay the sum of N75,000 monthly feeding allowance for their children .
She said, “The children have been with me for over a year and he doesn’t discharge his responsibility as a father. I want him to take care of our children’s school fees, health and clothing.’’
However, the court compelled Mr Muhammad to pay a monthly feeding allowance of N25,000 after he could only volunteer N20,000 monthly allowance.
