The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps has arrested two teenagers over the alleged burglary of a shop, one of which was owned by a trader, Julius Deborah, in the Inawole area.

The corps state commander, Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this on Monday in a statement by the director of information and public relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi.

Mr Ganzallo said the 37-year-old trader reported the matter on June 20, 2026, alleging that her shop had been broken into and various valuables were stolen.

Responding to the complaint, he said, “The Ado-Odo Igbesa Area Commander, ACC Kehinde Oluti, directed the OC Anti-Robbery, SC Ajayi Rotimi, to arrange a team of formidable officers from both the Anti-Robbery and Intelligence Unit of his command for a detailed investigation into the incident.

“The investigation subsequently led to the arrest of the duo: Abioro Taofeeq, 16, a trainee welder and resident of Ago-Igbe, and Monday Ogundele, 15, also a trainee welder and resident of Idobarun, on September 4, 2026.

“During preliminary interrogation, the two suspects admitted to their involvement in burglary and stealing. They further disclosed that they were not acting alone, claiming that a third person, simply identified as T-boy, now at large, was also involved.

“The suspects also confessed that two shops had been burgled on five different occasions, during which items including mobile phones, money, Bluetooth devices, clothes, power banks and other valuables were reportedly stolen.”

He said the suspects and the recovered items have been transferred to the Ado-Odo divisional headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and appropriate legal action.

Mr Ganzallo assured residents of the agency’s commitment to protecting lives and property, preventing crime, and working with other security agencies and the community to ensure the state’s safety and security.
