Speaker congratulates Gov AbdulRasaq on emerging NGF chairman

The Kwara House of Assembly speaker, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, congratulated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq on emerging as the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) chairman.
This is contained in a statement signed by the speaker’s chief press secretary, Shehu Abdulkadir-Yusuf, on Wednesday.
He described the emergence of Mr AbdulRasaq as a great achievement for Kwara and the nation at large.
“Indeed, this is a recognition of the trust and confidence that your colleagues reposed in you to lead and represent them. On behalf of my colleagues in the Ninth Assembly, I wish him all the best as he takes on this new responsibility,” stated the speaker. “I have no doubt that he will bring his wealth of experience, leadership skills, and commitment to the service of the people to bear in this new role.”
Mr AbdulRazaq emerged as NGF’s new chairman by consensus at a closed-door meeting of the governors in Abuja on Tuesday.
He succeeds outgoing Governor Aminu Tambuwal, who became the forum’s chairman in 2022.
Ex-Governor Kayode Fayemi was the substantive chairman of the NGF until his second term in office ended in 2022, paving the way for Mr Tambuwal, his deputy, to succeed him.
