Sri Lanka’s private airline begins international flights October
Sri Lanka’s privately-owned airline, FitsAir, would launch its international passenger flights in October, a move expected to boost foreign visitor arrivals in the South Asian country.
A statement from the airline was quoted as saying that it would begin international flights on October 5, with the first flight from Colombo to the UAE’s Dubai.
The service for flight to Male, the capital of the Maldives, would start from October 10 and to India’s Trichy from October 28.
FitsAir is a budget airline under the privately-owned investment conglomerate Aberdeen Holdings, headquartered in Colombo. It will become Sri Lanka’s first private scheduled international passenger carrier by launching international flights.
