Stop dreaming of victory you never had, presidency knocks Obi over rigging claim in 2023

Presidency has knocked Peter Obi, Nigeria Democratic Congress 2027 presidential candidate, over claim that he was rigged out in the last presidential election.
Mr Obi, in a Channels TV interview on Sunday, insisted that he was rigged out of the 2023 presidential election and urged the youth to join him in demanding credible poll in 2027.
“I was rigged out of the 2023 election. The elections results were cooked. I am begging the youth to join me in demanding free, fair and credible election”, the politician stated.
Reacting to Mr Obi’s statement on X on Monday, presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, said, “You lost, Peter. You didn’t win that election. Seun pointedly asked you whether you believed you were rigged out. You fell into his trap by concurring.
“It is time you accepted the stark reality of the loss. Stop dreaming of a victory that you never had.”
While acknowledging Mr Obi’s performance as a first-time presidential candidate in 2023 election, the presidential spokesperson accused the politician of delusion even after the Supreme Court had affirmed Bola Tinubu’s victory.
“You did well in the election, no doubt- a politician with no structure in the states, except the noisy followers on X, Instagram and Facebook. But I was utterly surprised that more than three years after the Supreme Court threw away your petition, you are still in denial of the loss, and you still nurse the delusion that you won the election, echoing the sentiment of your gullible followers on the streets,” Mr Onanuga added.
