The newly posted Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Adeniran Adewale, has assumed office with a warning to criminals to steer clear of the state.

Mr Adewale took over from Dare Ogundare, who was elevated to the post of Assistant Inspector-General.

Addressing journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, the new police commissioner said his deployment to the state was not a mistake but a call to serve.

He said, “This time calls for sober reflection because of the upsurge in insecurity, but the government is doing everything possible to arrest the situation.

“I am here, and I am in charge, those with weapons should submit them because I will come after them.”
