Nigerian influencer Anderson Damisa, popularly known as lazywrita, shared an emotional post on Monday that many believed was scheduled, prompting speculation about suicide.

In the post, Lazywrita told followers not to cry for him, saying he had “lived a full and adventurous life” but no longer had “the energy to continue anymore”.

He described himself as “happy, unburdened and free” and shared regrets about not watching new episodes of ‘Stranger Things’ and not marrying the love of his life before she moved on.

Addressing the woman directly, he urged her not to shoulder any blame and encouraged her to “live, love, laugh, make babies and be happy”.

He also thanked close friends, saying he would choose them as family “over and over again”.

Lazywrita added that he had deleted all other social media accounts, leaving just the one post so that friends and loved ones would see his message and “no false narrative is written”.

The post featured the late Nigerian rapper Dagrin’s song ‘If I Die’.

Weeks earlier, in October, he had shared a post about his mental and emotional struggles.

He wrote that the month “put me through it, mentally, emotionally, and in ways I didn’t see coming”, and said he learned about patience, discipline, and the kind of strength that “only shows up when life tests you”.
