Sunshine Stars’ assistant kit manager killed by gunmen buried in Akure

The body of the late Sunshine Stars’ assistant kit manager, Taiwo Dosunmu, was on Friday laid to rest in Akure.
Dosunmu fell victim when gunmen attacked Sunshine Stars on Benin/Ore Expressway to honour the Nigeria Premier League match in Benin.
Football stakeholders in Ondo converged on Akure to pay their last respects to the manager.
In his sermon at the funeral service, a Christian cleric, David Ariyo, advised that human beings should seek God and live righteously.
“Our brother and friend is gone. I pray the good Lord grants him eternal rest. God giveth and he taketh,“ he said.
The coordinator of Sunshine Stars and Sunshine Queens, Tokunbo Akinyelure, described the deceased as jovial and dutiful.
The team manager of Sunshine Stars, Seun Betiku, described the late Dosunmu as a friend and dedicated worker.
The captain of the team, Abe Sunday, said that the deceased would be missed.
“It is sad that Taiwo is gone, but God knows best,“ he said.
Dosunmu’s family members and friends, sports writers, staff members of Ondo State Football Agency, Sunshine Stars, and Sunshine Queens players and coaches attended the funeral.
