The Supreme Court has ruled against All Progressives Congress governorship candidate Ovie Omo-Agege following his appeal challenging the election of Peoples Democratic Party candidate Sheriff Oborevwori as the governor of Delta.

The court gave its judgment on Friday.

The apex court had previously reserved judgment on January 9.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Mr Oborevwori as the winner of the March 18 governorship election.

However, Mr Agege had sought the apex court to challenge Mr Oborevwori’s victory.

The panel of five Justices led by Justice Inyang Okoro dismissed Mr Agege’s appeal, ruling that the APC candidate was unable to prove his case of over-voting and noncompliance with the electoral laws while also affirming Mr Oborevwori’s victory in the Delta governorship election.
