The police spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, said the passengers were abducted at Unguwar-Basau on the Funtua-Gusau road.
The police spokesperson said that the suspects confessed to the commission of the offence.
Mr Aliyu stated that the group had registered members, Muslims and Christians, all volunteers in the 19 northern states.
He said that the police also recovered 213 suspected rustled animals during the period under review.
They said the bandits, in their numbers, went with dangerous weapons, shooting and forcefully gaining access to Mr Tsiga’s residence.
